I love that you didn't get too carried away with a theme. If I have to watch one more Trading Spaces re-run with a theme, I'll toss my biscuits.

Birds are so in right now. You did a nice job.

And you couldn't be more right about photographing a room to give yourself more perspective. When we photographed our house to sell it, it was amazing what I had overlooked in person but noticed in the photos. Smart!

Thanks, everyone!

They are kind of trendy aren't they, Rural? And I'm usually so anti-trendy...

Kelly I love the birds. You are so creative! I am missing that bone in my body. You are welcome to come to St. Louis anytime and redesign my house. :)

Courtney, I am SO JEALOUS that you're getting to put together a nursery. If I was up there I'd drive Tim crazy baby shopping with you!

Oh wow! This is just perfect. How did you get the birds on the wall and where in the WORLD did you get the peacock pillow? My sis in law has a teeny tiny obsession with peacocks and this would just be a perfect gift.

And is that a Wheaten Terrier? My BFF for 20 years has a Wheaten and they are the coolest dogs.

Thanks for stopping by my blog for the giveaway. You are so creative and I love project blogs. And I'm a Courtney too!

Coco said...

Uh, no you aren't a Courtney, you are a Kelly. Oops. Just reading further.

Teehee, no worries, Coco.

The birds are wallpaper and the whole project was SO EASY. I kept thinking they'd peel up or it would be messy or they wouldn't cut right, but nope. EASY. Which, like, hardly ever happens when I try something new!

We don't know what kind of dog Satchel is, because we adopted her at only a few weeks old. She was found wandering the streets of Miami. At the time, we were told she was a Schnauzer Terrier mix who would be about 15 pounds. 40 pounds later, people tell us that she looks like a Wheaten or a Labradoodle or a Golden Doodle. We call her The Mystery Dog. Even the vet is confused.

Oh, and the peacock pillows are from Pottery Barn!

i'm so glad you stopped by my blog...because now i get to discover yours!
it has been so fun to look at all your have been busy! and you are super talented!
i answered your question about the sliding barn door on my blog, but i will add the answer here as well:
the sliding barn door was custom built for us from my husbands deisgns by our trim carpenters...the same guys that built the coffered ceiling and added all the trim to the rest of the house.
i'm pretty sure it would be pretty easy to make your self! i believe it was made from mdf and some 1 x 4's. let me know if you need any more info
best of luck in all your remodeling!
i'm excited to see what you continue to do!
all the best,

Thanks, Betsy!

Autumn, I've been dying to build a barn door very similar to the one your husband constructed. I had a client who wanted to do one with granite. Clearly he had no idea how heavy granite is! Do you know what supplier he used for the hardware? I think Schlage carries a commercial grade system like this?

I love the subtle vintage whimsy of the birds & I am just drooling over the peacock pillow fabric. To.die.for. So loving this space!

(I meant to to tell you I ADORED your feature on Brooklyn Limestone's blog a few weeks ago. That bathroom transformation was AMAZING.)

The birds are great and the perfect added touch! And I'd love to work in that space... it seems so breezy and light.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I'm off to wander around yours now :)

Kelly Muys Wood said...

I promise I was totally kidding, Erika. But I do really like that mobile! Okay, I love it!

I love the whimsy and airiness (if that's how you spell it) of your office. The shadow of the candelabra on the sheers seems so dreamy. And the paper you used for the birdies is so pretty. Such a sweet touch.

Kelly Muys Wood said...

Thanks, Adrianna. I love the lightness and sort of ethereal quality of sheers. When they're naked (like i like to use them) -- without curtains -- it leaves a place feeling a tad unfinished. Which I like.

Love the birds! I might have to hang onto that idea for MB's big girl room!
I also love love love those chairs. We have a desk chair issue in our house that needs solving!

You're so right! My little spray painted birdie DOES look like your ceramic one! :)

Pretty office, btw!
