You And I by Henry Alford
My hand is lonely for your clasping, dear;
My ear is tired waiting for your call.
I want your strength to help, your laugh to cheer;
Heart, soul and senses need you, one and all.
I droop without your full, frank sympathy;
We ought to be together -- you and I;
We want each other so, to comprehend
The dream, the hope, things planned or seen, or wrought.
Companion, comforter, guide, and friend,
As much as love asks love, does thought ask thought.
Life is so short, so fast the lone hours fly,
We ought to be together, you and I.

i have lost many in my 26 yrs and have another funeral to attend tomorrow...i liked your untitled poem a lot.
It's hard to open up about such a sensitive topic. As another who has lost someone they cared about, I can relate to a lot of what you posted above. (hugs) for you, Kelly, and for anyone else who has ever (or will ever) experience similar pain.
Kelly your poem is beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. I wondered about what had happened through the years. I don't want to say much on here except how sorry I am for your loss. Blessings my friend.
Thank you. Sincerely.
Beautiful post.
