I was here.

Andrew took me as part of my Valentine's present, and although I've been dozens of times (I was born in Chicago, after all), it's been years since I experienced it in the dimension that we did.
This weekend was all about relaxing and museums and a-mazing food and each other. We ate gyros and looked at Moore sculptures and bought jewelry, and got pedicures.
It was pretty much the best present ever.
No agendas. No cell phones. No place to be.

I took these pictures while walking around the city the first day we arrived. I should note that it was after being sent home the day before because our flight was delayed so late that we would have spent an entire day in Detroit before making it into Chi-Town around two o'clock on Friday afternoon. And so we went back home and took the first flight out Friday morning which took us to South Florida first, before flying directly to Midway. Which means, instead of getting in Thursday evening at around eight-ish we arrived Friday at noon.
Next time, we might decide to fast track it and just crawl.

I love chi town, I take the train in to the city as often as I can, (usually on a shoe buying mission on Michigan ave) :)
LOVE that town, went to the S.A.I.C. for painting and later fashion. It looks cold! I'm heading there in May...what a nice Valentine's Gift!! Flying, ugh, really.

Awesome, we are heading to Chicago next week for some fun as well. Not sure what we're going to do, though...it will probably involve shopping. Who am I kidding, of course it will.
Hope you didn't get caught in the rain too much while you were here! It was so icky over the weekend!
We did, but I kinda loved it, Kermie! First, because I'm a weirdo like that, but second because it was all foggy and romantic...
Also, I SAW SNOW! Granted, it was dirty and melting in a pile in a parking lot, but whatever. SNOW!
What a great present! Um, yeah - no agendas, no cell phones no places to be ROCKS!! (I experience that very little!)
awww... what a fun weekend! sorry about your plane troubles, but glad you had fun and got to see SNOW :)
Ahhhh... how fun! I could really use a getaway right now, even just a weekender! Glad you had a good time.
Awww! I love that city. I wish I would have known you were coming. I'd have rolled out the red carpet for you.
I forget, it's pretty much your 'hood, Justin! Great town.
