This Is Love: Salmon Special

Check out more of what I love over this-a-way.

Pick up a Salmon Special Sandwich from San Marco Deli.

It will make you happy.

It's tastes way better than it looks. I promise. Like, a bamillion times better. (Look it up. BAmillion.)

Not in Jacksonville?

Too bad, sucker.

Just kidding. We're in this together.

Here's how I make my version at home. It's a little different than theirs.

two slices of toasted pumpernickel
a teeny bit of avocado
light vegetable cream cheese
smoked salmon

I don't even LIKE avocado, M. I'm telling you, it's so good. It's something about the combination. Try it!!!

The very first time I had avocado was on a burger, and it surprised me with how good it was.
That sandwich looks even better (and healthier!), especially since you mentioned cream cheese!

Avocado with salmon is fabulous!
Ever had salmon sushi rolls? they always have avocado on them ..
We are lovers of avocado and I use it on a lot of things.
I make my smoked salmon sandwiches on french bread ( they don't have dark bread worth eating here) and I rarely bother with cream cheese, just a thin slice of tomato, a thick slab of avocado and smoked salmon ...

There is a restaurant in Jax called The Bonefish Grill and they have something like this ... also The Aqua Grill in Ponte Vedra .. We don't eat red meat so we were always looking for good seafood in Jax. And found it .. no wonder I gained weight in Florida lol

Hmmm, I'm not sure if I've had avocado on a burger? Sounds... interesting.

I used to eat a lot of sushi, but ignored the avocado. I couldn't really taste it with the fish, but the texture bothered me. These days I usually just have sashimi.

I love sushi ..I don't eat enough of it here :(
I lived in California as a child and learned to like avocado then .. here they are like tomatoes or something , always in the markets and always ripe and perfect.

I put avocado on EVERYTHING (almost). :-) I'm half mexican, so that might explain it! I got my husband hooked, too.

That sandwich - one of my fave breakfast sandwiches. Suggestion: add alfalfa for some crunch and added nutrients! YUM.

That looks delicious! I'd change your version and use a decidedly not teeny amount of avocado, but otherwise, yum!
