Thought you might be interested in my seeing it through the lense of my new love affair with the Nikon. I've been taking pictures nonstop, once I got over the paranoia of dropping it or forgetting it on top of my car or accidentally bumping it into a hot tub.
You know, my usual moves.

Hooray for Nikons. I dropped mine a couple months ago...thank goodness it was only the lens that I had to replace!

you are sooo much braver than me having white with dogs. Or, maybe my dog is just grosser than yours.
Also, I have a nikon as well, but I'm lazy and haven't learned how to "really" use it, but I look cool so that's all the matters. I found an etsy store called stash (i believe) that has really cool slr camera bags. You know, it's all about looking good.
Ha!!! It came with a camera bag, but I will look into that, Rolerkite. And what do you mean about the white dog thing? Shedding? We suspect Satchel is part poodle because she never really sheds...
I never carry a "real" camera case, of course, where I live, you don't want to show anyone that you are carrying something steal-able. So I carry a bag across the chest sort of strap or something with big pockets.
I am not carrying a Nikon anymore which makes it easier.
You get in the habit after a while , putting it in the bag rather than holding it or putting it down.
My husband put his (Nikon) down on the roof of the car once and we took off. About a block later he remembered the camera.
It never moved. phew !
I knew you were blogging less because you were fiddling with your new gadget! I was almost going to email you and ask how the SLR learnin' was going!

You're gonna love that camera so stinking much. The first thing I recommend is taking it off auto ISO if you have it set there. Those cameras always bump the ISO up high before adjusting the other settings (which means you get grain). I only bump up the ISO as a last resort. Good luck!
