Me: I don't mind it. I think it's entrepreneurial.
Andrew: It's stupid. If they're going to bother to just stand out there all day, they should at least have to dress up or something. Like the Peterbrooke guy by our house.
Me: I like sandwich boards. They make me think of New York.
Andrew: The Peterbrooke guy was dressed up like Santa. See, Santa on a street corner, that's nice. That makes sense. They should all have to dress up like something. It should be some kind of law.
Me: I've seen some of them dance. Like they're on crack...
Andrew: No. I mean, like, completely dressing up. Costumes. You know, the whole thing.
Silence.
Andrew: Wouldn't it be funny if they dressed up like pimps?
Me: NO. Then no one would be able to tell the difference between real pimps and street sign pimps. THAT SOLVES NOTHING.

Hahahah!
I always wondered if this was effective marketing. I've never stopped anywhere because of a sign-holder. However I have felt concerned for their safety since they are standing by the road all day long. Not to mention the possible sun damage... Yes this is really stuff I think about.
Let me note, the sign the guy was holding was for a jewelery store. thats why I thought he should dress like a pimp since pimps wear lots of gold. And yes, I am apparently an expert in pimpology.
*LOL* You know, you should drive Andrew past the thrift store on Phillips (a couple of blocks after Walmart when coming from the downtown area) - they have a sign-waver who dresses up in all kinds of costumes: Spiderman, Hula girl, etc. A couple of years ago there was even a newspaper article about him ;o)
Kristi, I always wonder how they don't get plowed down too!
Michaela, I just now realized that you live in Springfield! Hello, sort of neighbor! Have you been to the new Peterbrooke there yet?
y'all's conversations make me happy. you're so crazy ;] when i read them, i feel like i can really hear them, because that's how greg and i talk to each other a lot too.
