Which is WONDERFUL. But.
The Kitchen renovation stalled pretty much everything else in my entire universe, meaning that massaging The Supposedly Finished Living Area was completely ignored. I'm actually horrified when I go back and look at the After photos, because the details are so completely half ass that it makes me groan and then cringe and then groan again. But, honestly, at the point that I posted those, I was doing back handsprings just because it was no longer tangerine. Nauseating tangerine.
And I was pretty happy about that.
I've been cleaning my act up in there slowly, and it's so much more comfortable and, well, RIGHT. The modifications may be small, but they have a lot of impact, and it's starting to look how it should have in the first place. I'm almost at the point where I can do a real After post. I changed the painting lighting (from the ones I originally installed), unpacked a myriad of additional throws, and found a steal on a genuine Persian rug (to replace the much too small Shaw Wooly Bully one, which was relocated to The Master Bedroom) among other things.
My favorite tweak has been this gold frame that I added to my father's painting of a canal in Amsterdam. It's thick and rich, but I love that it's hung over by the window seat, sort of modestly positioned.
It's getting there.

You know we'll be hovering in wait.
I don't believe I saw the first one, but those throws look awfully comfy! The colors in the painting are gorgeous, as well. I would love to see a closer photo of the painting : )

I love the tweaks to the living room. I just went back and looked at the old picutures and I'd forgotten about the fireplace....wow doesn't it look better? Usually, I'd be against changing an original fireplace but that broken marble was just too crazy. Did you cover with hardy backer first or did you just plaster over the marble? Looks so good.
Oooh I already loved it when it was "supposedly finished", but I really love the new rug. Excited to see more pics.
Thanks for stopping by my WW, and for all your prayers for my dear cousin. Following you, and have a great day!
