In the mornings the Spanish drink caffe con leches chased with stiff shots of whiskey before riding their beach cruisers along the sea.
So it's pretty much like South Beach.
Except with subways and wooly mammoths.
Barcelona is pretty and quiet and clean and, I have to tell you, quite the opposite of modest. As in, when I ordered a massage I was covered with nothing more than a hand towel and conveniently placed in front of a window. With the lights on. When it was dark outside.
Love Barcelona - if you have time you should head out of town to Tossa Del Mar. Quintessential Mediterranean beach town with a castle on the cliff over looking the bay.
Ha! Maybe not modest, but definitely gorgeous. Looks like you've had some great weather so far! Either that or you took all those photos in a 10 minute period of time.
OF COURSE we tried one, Melissa. Or perhaps three. Or four...
The weather has been AMAZING (both there and in Rome where we are today), Cindy. By the way, thank you for the very sweet compliment and mention on your blog the other day! xo
In the eighties, I was a little kid who put together model buildings out of notebook paper and Scotch tape and spent days on end playing Monopoly with my best friend. And, really, what I've done over the last decade is pretty much the same thing. I began buying, renovating, and renting dozens of properties during Architecture school, where I mostly learned how to stay awake for six days straight while narrowly escaping dismemberment by Exacto knife.
Today I'm married with four dogs, way too many houses, and a boatload of projects along the coasts of North and South Florida. We recently wrapped up renovations to our place around the corner and moved a few blocks away to begin work on a three story lake house built in 1928. Oh, and also?
