Random

My first bathing suit casualty of the year, the sad part being that I hadn't even worn this one without the tags yet. It's the Vix Florence Hipster Clasp, minus a hipster, plus a misbehaving clasp. They're sending me a new one, which I've promised myself will not sit in the closet for two or three months while I run on the beach in ripped up collegiate shorts and tan line inducing sports bras.

I've decided I will wear this magical suit like a true hipster poser, lounging on the sand, and doing absolutely nothing except for texting one hundred and sixty words per minute while listening to the most obscure indie rock band my Ipod can come up with. Which will last about five and a half seconds. Maybe six.

In other self absorbed news, I'm into honey masks right now.

And taking photos of myself melting into the sink.

I wear them for about an hour or so or until I'm convinced that they've eradicated the freckles that started popping up on top of the bridge of my nose over the last few years, which my dermatologist refers to as age spots, which are NOT, they are freckles, at least until I start relying on Depends or wearing holiday themed visors to the beach. Or poking fun at hipsters.

(Did I just write that out loud?)

My milking stool made an appearance here yesterday, if you'd like to wave hello to Ms. French and check out her oh-so-lovely finds.

What else?

Oh, I keep forgetting! Look.

Did I show this to you yet?

I saved it eons ago so, of course, I have no idea where it came from, but I found it cleaning out my old computer and it's, like... a happy little cocktail, no? Someone please enlighten me as to where it came from.

Anyway, that's it for now. I'll be back soon with something more organized.

Probably.

I've never lived in Florida, but I recently got friended by someone in Tampa (boring story), and all the pictures of hipsters on his fb page makes me laugh. As in "look! monkeys!" (Is Tampa like the southern version of Jersey Shore?)

anyway. I'm 32. I figure it's time to start criticizing everyone before the early-onset dementia gets me. :)

You're a hoot. The bikini is adorable. I would have been nervous wearing it for that very reason (wardrobe malfunction).

P.S. I love honey masks. I've been doing them with egg whites. I've got tons of freckles, so I guess I must have had age spots since I was 4? Anyhoo-it didn't fade any of them, but my face always feels good after.

Does that honey thing work on places like...your hands? And arms? Because that's where all my "freckles" (*ahem*) have begun popping up....

I love anything involving honey, time to try the mask, thanks!

HAHA! You crack me up! Never heard of honey for "age spots" do tell!

Woah, I've never heard of a honey mask before! Also, I'm jealous that it's warm enough to wear a swimsuit where you are. I recently moved to London (UK) and I'm pretty sure that the weather over here has no idea what the concept of warmth is!

That bikini is adorable. I'm really glad you weren't wearing it when that happened because..well, that's just the kind of thing that would happen to you. I mean, right?? Hope the new one holds itself together a little better. : )

oh, Kelly - you do crack me up - in the very best way!!
Do the honey masks work? Gawd, at this point, I will try ANYthing. I was really pissed at my husband about a month ago - and happened to be passing by HSN (yes, Home Shopping Network) while getting ready for bed in a seperate bedroom. The had the Elizabeth Arden Prevage set on special - something like $90, but it was like getting the 3 items for the price of one (or something like that). Anyway, it has made a signicant improvement in the tone/clarity of my skin. But I may have to try the honey mask - it's much easier on the budget, no?

Honey? Seriously? I'll most likely find myself trying it...but certainly won't look as cute as you if I were to decide to photograph myself while waiting for the hour to pass!
