Twenty five hundred square feet. Two stories with a detached garage. Double lot. Built in the forties with nearly all of the original architectural detailing intact. Surrounded by properties selling for four times the price.
Three houses from the ocean in one of the sweetest little beach towns I've ever seen.
There was a bidding war with multiple other buyers. Which did not go well. For us.
Sad.
I was going to show you a few photos to get it out of my system, but now I realize that I can't bear to.
So sad.

Booooo. I'm sorry.
Bigger and better is on its way!
I'm sorry. :(
I have been there, no fun! But the house we ultimately found was better!
A better one will come your way. Stay positive.
Ugh. Sorry to hear it!
Be mad about this for a minute or two ... then get out there and kick someone's butt in the next bidding war. I know you can do it.
Sorry to hear that -- especially when the 'housing market is still bad and recovering slowly'. Gotta think Says Who when you get outbid on a house.
I'm so sorry.....argh that's frustrating.
You know, I still dream sometimes about houses I either a) walked away from d/t long term cost assumption (yea-ah) or b) any other reason imaginable... as you know, losing something you love and have dreamed of can hurt. Funnily enough, there have been no long term regrets. :)
