This is going to sound crazy, but start singing. Pick a couple of favorite songs and sing them to yourself (at like normal volume, not whispery) and to the baby. When they're out-utero, those songs will help calm them in the early times, because they can hear your voice and feel the vibrations of your vocal chords as they grow.
I totally just used it to put Kiedis to bed tonight, and at 2.5 yrs old, it's still working. :)
I just wanted to stop and say hi! this is my first time at your blog and I've read a couple entries and I'm definitely in love. You've got a new fan :)
Congratulations! I loved every single ultrasound that we had, the best ones are when you're towards the very end of your pregnancy and you can make out their littles toes, fingers and facial features. So exciting!
And I'm one of those people who sings at the top of their lungs in the car so I never bothered to put headphones up to my belly. I figured she was hearing all of hits whenever I was singing them. LOL
In the eighties, I was a little kid who put together model buildings out of notebook paper and Scotch tape and spent days on end playing Monopoly with my best friend. And, really, what I've done over the last decade is pretty much the same thing. I began buying, renovating, and renting dozens of properties during Architecture school, where I mostly learned how to stay awake for six days straight while narrowly escaping dismemberment by Exacto knife.
Today I'm married with four dogs, way too many houses, and a boatload of projects along the coasts of North and South Florida. We recently wrapped up renovations to our place around the corner and moved a few blocks away to begin work on a three story lake house built in 1928 . Oh, and also?
