Recently

During the first trimester I pined for a perfectly obvious baby bump, the kind that makes strangers understand that ralphing in the post office parking lot at eleven o'clock in the morning has nothing to do with alcoholism. Probably.

Through the miracle of stretchy pants that moment has finally arrived.

The baby mountain makes the entire parenting thing seem progressively more imminent, and Andrew has taken to having fatherly discussions with our child, things like, "Stop making your mother puke, you little punk," which he whispers directly into my belly button.

Too bad we are dealing with an anarchist.

In related news, apparently I have a thing for teeny tiny shoes. And boots. And sandals. And socks. I am three pairs away from a fetish.

Let's talk about something else.

Robert Novogratz bought a set of our Meakin plates for his new HGTV series, Home By Novogratz. Remember him from 9 By Design? With the seventy six offspring? Can you imagine all of the tiny shoes in that household?

I love their family.

Let's see, what else happened this week?

Oh. I made apple pizza for the first time, and I'm proud to report that it was devoured in less than three and a half seconds. It was sooo good.

Almost as good as tiny shoes. On teeny tiny Novogratz's.

I have been out of the US too long .. I don't know Novogratz and how in the world did he get that many children ? not to mention teeny tiny shoes ?
I love love love the shoes.
I didn't even consider the sex of the baby when looking/oohing/awwwing over the shoes !

Haha I thought they looked a bit like boy shoes, but I would so put those on a girl. Too cute.

Also, the first time I read what Andrew told the baby I read it as "Stop making your mother puke, you little puke" and then I snort-laughed in my office.

Love the pic of you guys posing for a pic in front of the house, that is so fun!

The hoarding of little shoes is just the beginning....

And the pizza looks amazing!

Tova's worn almost every pair of Chucks that Kiedis wore before her. I get it.

I also have a minor in gender studies. See my son's long flowing blonde shoulder-length hair and my daughter's lack of pink in pretty much any realm. Performing gender: we do it how we please.

cait, he'll get a kick out of that.

sara, soon! my best friend has been asking, too!

alh, it was a little odd, to be honest... out of no where the seller's realtor requested an impromptu photo shoot... i wish i'd bothered to wear something a tad nicer than my workout clothes!
